Study Shows Fish Oil Could Lower Risk of Breast Cancer
A new study shows that Omega-3 fatty acids, such as those found in fish oil supplements, may reduce the risk of breast cancer. The study was conducted by researchers at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle. They followed 35,016 post-menopausal women with no history of breast cancer. Those that regularly used fish oil supplements were 32% less likely to develop the most common form of breast cancer. Although it is too soon to recommend fish oils to prevent breast cancer, it has already been proven to lower the risk of death and heart attack in people with heart disease.
